Inspiration! What inspires me to write and create?
What are your inspirations?

The Muse who brings me ideas and the urge to write or create uses some of my life experiences, and some come from friends, readers, and things I read about which touch me.

Finished14 Ink drawing Handtowel seriesI try to be open, which for example means I haven’t locked myself into a certain style or medium when I create art. Heck, I’ve even created cool pieces using paper hand towels from the women’s bathroom, blue ball point pens and highlighters! Here’s an article about that! Click on the image to see it on Fine Art America! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/09/27/creating-art-out-of-nothing/

When something moves me in an article I might read, I’ll either reblog it, or write a bit about my thoughts and feelings on the subject, hoping to shed more awareness, even to give inspiration to others! Here’s my a small take on Forgiveness: https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/03/07/forgiveness/ or here’s a great one about Freeing the Inner Prisoners in our Minds! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/07/21/freeing-the-prisoner-in-our-mind/

Music and musicians… okay, one of my favorites! David Bowie (RIP)… I still love Bryan Ferry! (originally of Roxy Music) https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/03/06/dress-for-the-job-you-want-to-have/  and  https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/01/13/enjoy-some-david-bowie-here-rip/

Fellow artists or in this case, a beginner artist will inspire me to write! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/02/27/white-canvas-or-colored-for-starting-a-painting/

Movies… Leonardo di Caprio… I saw him in the Revenant, and then I read an article about him written by my former boss, which I just had to share! Helping raise awareness about one of my favorite non-profits is a boost! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/03/02/leonardo-di-caprio-a-winner-on-so-many-levels/ and a previous post where I shared all about their goodness: https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/10/28/what-can-you-do-if-you-want-to-save-the-world/

Fellow bloggers! One article wasn’t just inspired by a fellow blogger, but she specifically requested I write it for her to share! Thank you for that! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/03/02/what-tools-did-i-use-to-create-the-on-becoming-a-lemonade-maker-workbook/

Sigh! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2016/01/17/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-newsletter-to-wordpress-com-blog-with-style/

I’ve even prepared a whole page where I have links for various inspirational and helpful articles I’ve written: https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/personal-development-articles/

Reviews for my book… seems my readers are much more inspired to write to me directly to let me know how much they love my book, but they aren’t so successful at posting reviews on Amazon!  *Frown*  https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/an-awesome-book-review-for-on-becoming-a-lemonade-maker/   Here’s a great review I got on Ann Livi Andrew’s site: https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/05/07/an-awesome-review-and-interview-by-ann-livi-andrews/ Yup, my mom! https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/01/21/your-worst-critic-turns-into-major-fan/  I’ve tried to explain this phenomenon: https://onbecomingalemonademaker.wordpress.com/2015/01/12/missing-or-rejected-reviews-on-amazon/

So, here’s quite a few of my inspiration triggers! Not to mention that there’s days where I’ll just put up an inspiration just for the heck of it!

Do you have some of your favorites you’d like me to check out? I’m looking forward to seeing yours!

    • Thank you so much for your compliment! I’m thrilled you noticed! Thanks for stopping by from the challenge!! I’ll be sure to check out your blogs… All of them! I can’t imagine creating content for that many! Wow! You’re awesome!

    • I agree! Kids are a never-ending source of inspiration! Your positive outlook is contagious! Thank you for sharing!

    • Thank you Rajlakshmi! I appreciate your kind words… Even if I don’t always feel organized! In a later post in this challenge I’ll be sharing my tips for never losing those lists or notes for article ideas! My latest method is proving to be my best one yet!!

    • I’m one of those people who enjoys reading other people’s lists too! I haven’t come across one for sources of inspiration… I was trying to figure out what to choose for the letter I without sounding trite yet sticking to my theme of writing about various topics of interest to budding life lemonade makers!

    • Sometimes my writing ideas seem to appear out of thin air, but those seem to be inspired by something tangible… Since I write about overcoming, it is of great interest to me to see what’s affecting other people… If it’s something they’re struggling with and I feel I can offer some help or support that’s the approach I take. Likewise if it’s something I find inspiring I’ll mention why I found it inspirational.

My art can come sheer out of the blue however!

So I guess in some ways we’re kind of opposites?

      • Haha, yes in a way we are opposites! I think my writing comes from thin air because it’s fantasy. So it has unique and unrealistic aspects. But for art, I usually need to find something tangible to inspire me! 🙂

      • I like your writing ! Your artwork reminds me of some well done fantasy book cover art… do you do those too?

  1. I couldn’t have done what you just did – write a blog post detailing all my possible sources of inspiration. Hats off to you for doing so. I must say that many of the items on your list are triggers for my inspiration as well. Another one is – dreams I have. Actual dreams! That are an amalgamation of experiences, thoughts, smells, feelings, Facebook posts, overheard conversations, festering arguments. Dreams are such a powerful source of inspiration for me.

    • Ooh! I like that one of yours… Dreams! I don’t always remember mine, and if I do they’re usually very strange and unrelated to reality!

I haven’t done a list like this before so when I was creating it I wanted to inspire a) writers and b) beginning life lemonade makers!

I figured that it would be useful to add examples to link to, just in case the words in my list didn’t make sense to someone! (Hahaha! I know how that goes in real life! I say something that makes perfect sense in my head because I know all the frames of reference I’m referring to, and I get a totally blank stare from the listener! They don’t see all the complex firings in my head to arrive at a certain statement so they don’t get it until I add more information!)

Adding the links was my way of adding more information without making the article itself too long and boring!

Thanks for sharing your story triggers!

  2. I often find something I’ve read sparks an idea, or just the world around me. A lot of the time (certainly with fiction writing) I don’t know where the inspiration comes from, the idea just sort of appears
